San Angelo ISD Elementaries to Host Kindergarten Round-Up April 13-16

At San Angelo ISD, we are excited to begin growing hopes and dreams with our future pre-kindergarten and kindergarten students! During the week of April 13-17, our elementary schools across the district will open their doors to welcome the families of incoming pre-k and kindergarten students to get to know their future elementary schools and receive assistance with the online enrollment process for the 2026-2027 school year. 

Kindergarten Round-Up events are an opportunity for our future pre-k and kindergarten students and their families to complete registration forms, learn more about what to expect in pre-k and kindergarten in SAISD, and, in some cases, tour the campus, talk with the principal, and meet teachers. Studies show that the first eight years of a child’s life are incredible opportunities for life-changing brain development, and we invite families to learn more about how our pre-k and kindergarten classrooms are designed with this in mind.

Enrollment for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year is now open at www.saisd.org/register. To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2026. To be eligible for pre-k, children must be 4 years old on or before September 1, 2026. 

Students who are new to the district, pre-kindergarten or kindergarten will need the following documents:

1. Proof of residence (utility bill or lease agreement)
2. Child's official birth certificate
3. Social Security card
4. Updated immunization record
5. Withdrawal paperwork from previous school

Parents can determine which school their student is eligible to attend by entering their address into the elementary attendance boundary map.

Additionally, families with students who ride the bus can find bus routes and stops by entering their address in our Infofinder system.  

District Enrollment Event - Receive Help Registering Your Child

San Angelo ISD will also host an enrollment support event on Wednesday, April 15, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. to assist pre-k and kindergarten families with the registration process for the 2026-2027 school year. The event will take place at the Austin Professional Learning Center (formerly Austin Elementary School, 700 N Van Buren​​).

SAISD representatives will be available on-site to answer questions, assist families with the process and provide access to devices for the online registration process. Families who need assistance enrolling their student are encouraged to stop by during that time for support from district staff.

SAISD Pre-Kindergarten (Pre-K)

SAISD is excited to welcome Pre-K students through our eligibility-based and tuition-based programs, and to provide a relevant and inspiring education to the future of San Angelo. Pre-K programs are offered at Belaire Elementary, Glenmore Elementary, Goliad Elementary and Reagan Elementary. Our Pre-K program is designed to provide children with skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. 

We also offer a unique program for bilingual Spanish-speaking students starting in Pre-K, where children receive instruction in their first language to become proficient in listening, speaking, reading and writing in both English and Spanish.
